Butterbeer and Magic

I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series, both the book and the movies. So it was only natural that for the last movie premiere, that I would have a party before we went to the movies. We watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I to get in the mood. While watching we enjoyed Red Licorice Wands and Butterbeer Cupcakes.

Take look at our bloody good time!

Red vines and Twizzlers are much better than black licorice in my opinion...they were Ollivander's approved!

(Butterbeer: Not for consumption of underage house-elves)

These Butterbeer cupcakes came from the blog Cupcakes Take the Cake and were inspired by the Butterbeer from the series. They were alittle strong on the butterscotch flavor in the icing, but good all the same!

My best friend Jessica and I waiting anxiously!

We set up camp, waiting in line...

Jessica and I have be reading and watching Harry Potter together since grade school. We were happy to see it come to an end together!

Sweet Blessed Hannah!

Congratulations to Katie and Danny on Hannah's Baptism! I was honored to make them cupcakes for this special event.

I thought that simple pink crosses was the best way to go.

Here's the guest of honor, Hannah with her Godmother Jessica! Super cute!

Congrats Little Hannah!

Diamonds, Dresses and Cupcakes!

Wedding Season has been in full swing for awhile now. I am always happy to be a part of it for anyone. Usually that means I make the cupcakes for bridal showers. Here's a look at a shower my friend Erin threw for her Aunt...

What a great set-up Erin!

Just the colors every girl loves to see! Usually in box form with a big white bow, but this is just as good!

Congratulations! Good Luck!

Special Delivery from Mr. Stork!

Pink or Blue? If you don't know, then these cupcakes are perfect for a gender neutral celebration!  These are some fun cupcakes from two different baby showers where the gender of the baby was a surprise.

First up were the cupcakes from my best friend's sister-in-law's baby shower.... oh what a mouth full! Hopefully it was a mouth full of cupcake goodness!

Pink and Blue Question Marks....it was all a guess to us...

How about some blue and pink baby bottles?

Bottles and Bibs....

I think I've mentioned before the pink frosting is my favorite!

Now here's a look at the cupcakes for a co-worker who threw a gender neutral baby shower.

I love making cupcakes for baby showers! It all has to start somewhere... it just helps lead me to their 1st birthday... then the next....keeps life entertaining!

Look Whoooo's Getting Older!

My younger sister Katrina loves Owls. Whooo doesn't right now? They are very popular in many ways. So this year for here 22nd Birthday, I made her a very special snowy owl cupcake. I might have taken some inspiration from my favorite snowy owl Hedwig from Harry Potter, but can you blame me?

Take a deep breath, make a wish and give a big hoot!

She got her wish! Then she took apart the owl bit by bit!

Hoping Katrina has a great year!

 owl love you!

Birthday Decorating Fun!

Happy 12th Birthday Sohini! This month Sohini turned 12 and I was happy to help her celebrate!

I was privileged to be ask to come to her birthday party and teach her and her friends how to decorate cupcakes. I thought it would be great fun and a great opportunity to spread the cupcaking love. So I went to this 'girls only' party and taught 8 rambunctious girls how to decorate cupcakes.

First I talked to them about their feelings on fondant. There was a unanimous agreement that fondant is gross and should be avoided! These girls learn fast. They frosted two cupcakes each, and the first one we decorated into a flower. What better way to make a flower than with marshmallows and sprinkles!

The girls were extremely creative and made some fantastic flowers, that were spring worthy!

Here's the Birthday Girl's beautiful spring flowers!

Some girls mixed it up. They used big marshmallows and little ones!

Our next cupcake was an Easter Bunny! Who doesn't love a cute little bunny with a sweet frosting face and fluffy marshmallow ears?

This was the most talkative group of girls I have ever met!

Well apparently Josie likes her bunnies scary. Hers was slightly mutilated.

But at least the rest of the girls like the cute kind.

Sohini might have a future in the cupcake decorating business.

They were extremely creative, and started making some baby bunnies as well.

These girls learn fast!

Overall, the girls were a lot of fun! We had a great time decorating cupcakes, eating sprinkles and licking up frosting!

Hope this is a Birthday Sohini will never forget!

Pretty in Pink and Oh-So Cupcake Sweet!

It's been awhile since I've blogged, so I figured I would start with a post about baby girls.... what's better than that?

My cousin Charlie Ann is expecting her first child in April. This little girl is going to be cover in pink from head-to-toe! We had a very girlie baby shower for her this February that coinsided with Valentine's Day. So naturally I made pink heart cupcakes and a little extra surprise.

Usually everyone gets a diaper cake at their shower. So since I only do cupcakes, I thought it would be good to roll up some onesies and things in the shape of a cupcake. Then wrap it in tissue paper, to make it look like one!

Take a look at our girlie fun and pink party!

Pink bows, and bibs....

Flowers and books...

White Chocolate hearts with extra Pink Frosting!

Pink Frosting is the best frosting!!

Here's Charlie Ann's Onesie Cupcake I made for her!

There is even a cherry on top!

Charlie loved it! She unwrapped it to find: onesies in all sizes and colors, socks, formula container and binkies!

This Disney Princess claw-footed baby tub is probably the most amazing thing I have ever seen!! Little Rylee will have to thank Aunt Amy for this gift!

All the Girl Cousins!

We all can't wait to meet baby Rylee! We wish Charlie Ann good luck!

"Take a sprinkling of fairy dust, an angel's single feather, also a dash of love and care. Then mix them both together. Add a sentiment or two,
a thoughtful wish or line, a touch of stardust, a ray of sunshine... Its a recipe, for a Baby Girl truly fine."
