Surprise 60th Roast!

My co-worker Emily's father aka Jimbo turned 60 this year! To help him celebrate she and her family threw him a surprise party, and I provided the cupcakes. Not only was it a surprise but a comedy roast. The guests came prepared to make jokes, tell stories and many other things all about him.

Here's a look at some themed birthday cupcakes and party activities!

A combination of cupcakes: baseballs, Cincinnati Breeze's Softball  Team Logo, and the Logo for the Loveland High School Tigers.

The guest of honor....Jimbo!

Duct taping his mouth shut while everyone 'roasted' him....

Jimbo is a fan of the Loveland Tigers, the Cincinnati Reds and his softball team the Cincinnati Breeze!

Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes are a perfect classic!

Crustacean Christmas

Who needs Christmas lights, tinsel and candy canes? When you can have the French Quarter, Seafood and the Bayou! My friend Vicky and her family celebrate a different type of Christmas each year. They choose a country or part of the world they would like to learn about and celebrate their Christmas with those customs including decorations, food and information about each place. What a wonderfully different and interesting way to celebrate with the family!

This year was all about New Orleans and having a Creole Christmas. So she came to me and asked about doing cupcakes that would correspond to the theme. I said, How about a large lobster made of cupcakes? She thought it was perfect, so then Larry the Lobster came to life. Take a look at Larry the Lobster!

He just looks like he's hanging out catching some winter sun....

Isn't he just adorable!

I am so glad Vicky liked him!

Larry the Lobster came from Karen Tack and Alan Richardson's amazing cupcake book, What's New Cupcake! I don't know what I would do without their genius!

So if your in need of something from The Bayou or a centerpiece for a Summer Party, let me know! I'm sure Larry would love to make an appearance!

Cupcake Yuletide

Hope the holidays were happy for everyone! This Christmas season was full of cupcakes at my house. Aside from my Cupcake Christmas Tree, many people decided to have cupcakes for the holidays. I made a Lobster for a friend's Creole Christmas and two plates of Spaghetti Cupcakes for another friend's Christmas Italia. Not traditional Christmas cupcakes but just as fun!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and this one was full of hand-made gifts. Sneak a peek at my family Christmas and take a look at my Cupcake Christmas!

My favorite cupcake apron, made by my Aunt Rosemary. It's Christmas cupcakes and green sparkles!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...How lovely are your cupcakes!

Cookies, Candy Canes and Cocoa are the three favorite sweet C's of the holidays. Well at my house we add Cupcakes to the list and make it four! My cupcake obsession wouldn't be complete without a Christmas Tree decorated in nothing but cupcakes! Here's a look at the Cupcake Christmas going on at my house!

Red polka-dotted bow on a white Christmas tree is all I need to be happy!

One of the best parts about cupcakes, besides eating them, is decorating them! Here's the 2010 Season's Treatings ornament from Hallmark. I could probably get some ideas for next from this!

Oh, so sweet! This is Hallmark's new ornament collection starting this year. This "Oh, so sweet!" collection will be a new cupcake every year! How perfect to fuel my obsession! This cupcake is a sweet little poinsettia on top of  'snow'.

I think of this ornament as the Ice Queen's Cupcake. Frosty, blue and sparkly....and wickedly tasty!

Of course Martha Stewart thinks of everything. Here's just two of her cupcake ornaments. They look so perfect, good enough to eat!

Another source catering to my cupcake fetish is the gift shop at my work. They are the ones providing me with most of the cupcake trinket boxes for all occasions.  Here's a look at the large crocheted cupcake ornament from them. It has pearls on it, how elegant!

A gingerbread house on a cupcake, two classics, one adorable ornament!

Bottom's up! Here you can spot the cupcake garland that my mother-in-law found for me last year! Who would have thought they would make a string of garland out of cupcakes?

Here's Bob. He's adorable in his candy cane striped bow-tie!

This is my 2009 Christmas Cupcake trinket box, he's like a little Bob. He's so cute!

Special thanks to my mother-in-law who not only gave me my tree last year, but also gave me the garland and made me the cupcake tree skirt! She's the best.

Then another thanks to all my friends and my own mother who have bought me cupcake related ornaments and decorations, I love them all!
